If you are still using Office 2011 for Mac, I highly, highly, highly, highly recommend you do not upgrade to 2016, because for all the problems that 2011 has, 2016 has them 10 fold. While the PC version of Excel never gave me problems, the same cannot be said for what Microsoft releases for Apple. I have been using Excel for years, first on a PC and now, for the past 5 years on a Mac. I'm hoping this will be fixed in updates to come. Even more disappointing is the fact that the editing feature is really limited. MegaStat will not work with Windows RT, Excel for the iPad, iPhone, or other tablet/smartphone versions.

MegaStat will work with 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 10 and Windows 8. This version is quite primitive: the dialogue box is so small you can't see enough of the named range. MegaStat is no longer supported on Excel 2010 or earlier. However, one feature that is VERY disappointing is the functionality of named ranges. I have not experienced any crashes or glitches (as mentioned in some other reviews).

I've been using Excel 2016 for Mac for about a month now and am pleased with it. I wish there were another company I could use for spreadsheets, but since MS has a monopoly on office software I feel stuck. This was clearly done on purpose since these are features that had been included with previous versions of Excel for Mac, but were removed. It is watered down with functions you use for every spreadsheet missing or haphazardly added.

I could go on, but suffice to say that you are NOT getting the full version of Excel if you buy it for the Mac. There is now a version of MegaStat that works with Mac Excel 2016 version 15.26 and later (I assume). Get the Excel 2016 for Mac at Microsoft Store and compare products with the latest customer reviews and ratings. Worse, there is no way to remove single borders since the eraser tool was part of the pencil border tool. The only way to add borders is to use the clumsy pull down menu.
